Jimmy Choo to relaunch men's shoe line

Jimmy ChooEquality is a great thing. Not only has it made it acceptable for men to do the dishes, hoover and get in touch with their feminine side, it has now brought us equal standing when it comes to spending lots of moolah on shoes. After an 8 year break, Jimmy Choo have decided to re-enter the men's market for shoes. Jimmy Choo is the legendary shoes that Carrie from Sex and the City loved to spend thousands on. Now you too will have that chance.

Before you scoff and think that no man in his right mind would spend that much money on shoes, Jimmy Choo is to make a comeback thanks to his line of shoes for H&M selling above expectations. Chief Executive Officer Joshua Schulman said, "The H&M collaboration showed us that our brand is bigger than our business today and that there is a demand for the Jimmy Choo aesthetic in the men’s categories."

Having nightmares yet?

Fall, 2011 has been set as the date for the launch of the men's line, so if you start saving now you might be able to afford a $1,000 pair of slippers. You might also want to get to the Milan fashion show in January to be one of the first to have a peek.

In a press release, Tamara Mellon, the brand's chief creative officer said,  "My vision of the Jimmy Choo man is one who exudes confidence and style whether he is an artist or an investment banker. The first thing I look at on a man is his shoes."

To be fair, if I was employed by a company that made $1,000 shoes, I would look at the shoes of anyone I met first too. Cannot really argue with her position on that one.
