Pipe Smoking Girls

Yours truly purchased a pipe to satisfy a curiosity that started with seeing my grandfather smoke one. And as per usual, yours truly went completely overboard and started buying tobacco flavours, pipe accessories, pipe stands, pipe packers, cleaners, polishers and whatever else I could lay my hands on.

Whilst poking into all things pipe smoking, I came across the folks over at PipesMagazine.com. Very helpful and knowledgeable guys over there so if you're interested in pipe smoking do check them out.*

The reason I mention them is because on their website they have a weird page featuring several girls smoking pipes. And not a nipple in sight! Now, I've seen the whole cigarette smoking girl and especially the cigar smoking girl. I can understand that - the whole big fat cigar equalling the phallic fantasy and so on. But pipes? Other than the cloud of smoke being sexy, I've always associated pipe smoking with

1. Old Men.

2. Really smart people that wear tweed jackets with leather patches on the elbows.

3. Detectives

4. Old tribal women.
