Tennis Goddess. From all places - Siberia, Russia. Maria now lives in the more sunnier climes of Florida, USA.

Surprisingly Maria is a natural leftie but plays with her right hand. Her list of awards is nearly too long to mention. In fact it is go we'll just give a brief summary!

• 3 time Grand Slam Champion
• 2003 Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Newcomer of the Year
• 2005 ESPY Best Female Tennis Player
• 2006 Named the country's best female player for the year by Russia's tennis federation
• Won Wimbledon on her 2nd appearance there. 2nd youngest ever to win Wimbledon.
• Consistently ranked in the Top Ten since winning Wimbleton in 2004 (Currently ranked No. 3).
• Highest paid female athlete at the end of 2006.

Her stunning looks and athletic ability have led to a steady stream of advertising and endorsement contracts. So much so that they now bring in more greenbacks than her championship winnings!  Born April 19th 1987, this 21 year old has much left to do. One of her more passionate endeavors is her MariaSharapova Foundation for Children at Risk.
