Hailing from Canada, high school drop-out out Avril Lavigne has a huge fanbase worldwide.

 Her punk rock songs have that rare quality of rawness mixed in with generous portions of catchy beats. Born on 27th September 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, it was a short time until the age of sixteen when whe was signed by Ken Krongard  (representing Arista Records) and shortly after began work on her first album 'Let Go'. It reached number two in the United States and number one in Canada, Australia and the UK. She was a mere seventeen at the time.

Since then she's released two further albums - 'Under My Skin' (2004) and 'The Best Damn Thing'(2007). Both have been hugely successful.

Married to Deryck Whibley since 2006, she sports a small tatooed 'D' on her right wrist for him. Her fashion and image clash with the well groomed pop stars of modern music has earned her a dedicated fanbase. Her skater pants and tank tops are in contrast to a Britney Spears who at the time was an All American good girl. No stranger to controversy she has been accussed of plaguirsm by a number of musicians - all have since withdrawn their claims. And their lawsuits.

With so much under her belt at a young age we are in doubt that there is much to come from Avril. We can only look forward to the next album.
