We can all improve our lives. We all know things we should, could and ought to be doing but often we slips into routines and lethargy. Here we give you 10 easy steps you can take to get moving and improve your life. 10. Work - As adults, work occupies most of our time. Find a job that you like. There is nothing worse than crawling out of bed day after day after day to go to a job you don’t like, you don’t want and that you couldn’t care less about. There are thousands of different jobs on this planet so go find the one that motivates you. Having a job we like means we are more likely to feel better about ourselves and that we do better at work - meaning promotions and extra pay packets. 9. Nutrition - Important for physical and mental well being. Foods high in fat, sugars and salt will make you bloated, weary and tired. Eat clean foods like lean red meats, turkey, chicken or fish. Stick to healthy carbs like wholegrain rice, pasta and brown bread. Munch away on all the fruit and veg you can handle washed down with plenty of water. If your going to eat junk make it a rare treat or do so in moderation. Remember that nutrition is fuel for life. You only want the best fuel that’s possible. 8. Exercise - Like nutrition, exercise has important physical and mental benefits. Try to incorporate some into your everyday routine, whether it’s simply walking to work or a more dedicated routine like an hour in the gym. Even if it’s jumping up and down on the spot whilst watching TV, exercise will keep your heart and lungs healthy and leave you feeling refreshed afterwards.
7. Relax - Stop worrying about everything. Chances are we have no control over half the things we worry about and things are probably never as bad as they seem. In any case, tomorrows another day. If you've fallen down, pick yourself up again. Either way, excess stress and worry is detrimental to your quality of life. If there’s a problem, deal with it. 6. Hobby - Life isn’t about doing a 9-5 job and coming home to the TV or computer. Life is about living. Find a hobby you like be it gardening, running, abseiling or model plane making. There’s something out there for everyone so don’t be shy to try! 5. Learning - Never stop learning. Mental activity exercises the brain keeping it in tip top shape as we grow older. Learn a language, read a science book, do a crossword. The human brain is what makes us unique from other animals on this planet. Use it! 4. Friends/Relationships - Keep the old friends and find some new ones. Social interaction is the basis of human society. Friends will be there to help you through the bad times and celebrate the good times. Friendships require effort over a sustained period of time so don’t be surprised to find yourself helping a friend with a broken car now and again rather than watching the latest sitcom on TV. If you're seeking a significant other, then don't stop trying. Rather than focusing entirely on the goal (Having a partner) just relax and enjoy the chase. Enjoy the expierences come you way. 3. Family - Where would we be without them? Good or bad, they’re our roots to the past. Our closest bonds are with our families so if you’ve fallen out, make amends. If you can’t, move on. If you get along, all the better. Unlike friends, you’re stuck with family for life so you might as well make the best of it. 2. Help - Help others. Even if you'll never need a helping hand yourself, others aren’t so fortunate. Try and leave this world a better place than you found it. There are a multitude of charities out there desperate for volunteers, aid or even just money. Whether its humans, animals or the environment your trying to help, do your small bit whilst you can. Trust us, you'll feel much better afterwards. 1. Time - Everytime someone is born, a clock starts ticking above their head. There’s one ticking above your head right now. No-one knows when they’ll go, when they’ll get sick, when their time on this earth will end. Time is a finite resource. Once it’s gone, you can’t get it back. Make sure you use yours wisely.
