Its not just fancy labels. Jeans are designed in different styles. And not all styles are suitable for every man. Some will suit taller men, other jeans are better for skinny types. Some jeans are desinged for wear with boots, others with runners.
Just because a style of jeans are in fashion doesn't mean you must have them. Classic jeans will always look great - with the added warning that they fit properly. We know you've a zillion things to do besides spending a day trying on jeans think of how long you'll have them! So well worth the effort. When shopping for jeans bring the shoes you would normally wear and a belt. Put the belt on the jeans when trying them on - it'll show you how the jeans sit on your waist. Do check out your behind - avoid complimenting yourself repeatedly.
Baggy Jeans Loose and comfortable. Great for those who are above average height and have good physique. For overweight men, baggy jeans can make you look fatter so be careful when purchasing that you get honest advice. Baggy jeans are not really flattering for the body - but they are the best for comfort. Wear at home. Not on a date. Inspired by prison wear, you can really go to extremes with these jeans.
Boot cut Jeans Guess what? These are designed for wearing with boots. The ends flare out over the jeans. The upper leg of the jean (the part around your thigh) should be relatively tight. Boot cut jeans can give you an overall slimmer look. Avoid jeans with flares that look like something from the 70's.
Loose fit Jeans Not quiet baggy, but not tight fitting either. The leg is straight down. Very loose fitting jeans can make you appear shorter than you are. Skinny Jeans For the fashion conscious male. If you're not sure if you'd look good in them avoid them. In fact avoid them alltogether. They were designed for women and thats where they should stay. |
