Upgrading your image doesn't have to involve a complete makeover and spending hundreds if not thousands of bucks on new clothes. Here we give you the easiest (and cheapest) ways to change your image.
1. Accessorize Necklaces, bracelets and rings all add subtle style to a man. For a more business feel, choose solid metals such as gold, silver or titanium. On more casual occasions you can wear beads or leather. Leather is very fashionable for 2008, particularly leather necklaces. Belts in particular can be a great way to spruce up your image. Don't be afraid to go with big buckles for a statement.
2. Colour
Men have favourite colours that they feel comfortable wearing. One way to upgrade our image is to simply wear colours we normally wouldn't dream of. For instance, if you never wear dark blue jeans now is the time to give them a whirl. Adding a splash of red to your t-shirt collection means you open up a whole new world of colour coordination. If you don't feel comfortable wearing new colours, one neat trick is to wear the color inside your clothing. A bright coloured t-shirt inside a v-neck sweater adds color to the outfit without being overbearing. Scarves too can add color but beware of going too over the top with them.
3. Shoes
Probably the easiest of all to achieve. Wait for the sales of course. And then plumb for something entirely different to what’s in your wardrobe. Boots are great if you've never worn them. If you wear shoes all day choose a nice pair of trainers. Mix it up! You'll be surprised how easily you can blend shoes in with your existing wardrobe. Men are notorious for having one pair of shoes that get worn to for everything before being cast away for another pair. Always try to have different pairs of shoes. Not only will it keep your fashion options open its healthier for your feet too.
4. Hair
Most men don't have a hairstyle. They have something that worked when they were seventeen and have carried on with it ever since. Our hair and face are the first thing most people notice so it makes sense to focus on these. You don't have to get blue streaks to achieve something different with your hair. Visit a good barber and go with whatever style he says. The worst that'll happen is you'll arrive home and shave your head.
6. Glasses.
If you wear glasses, its vital to choose the right pair. Ideally have 2-3 pairs all of different looks. Maybe a heavy dark rimmed pair, silver narrow pair and a rimless pair for example. This means three different looks without much effort on your part. Sunglasses are another way to change our look. 1970's style sunglasses or aviator glasses are in at the moment (think Harrison Ford).
7. Dress up or down
If you normally wear a shirt or suit buy some new t-shirts and wear those instead. Many will be surprised to find you looking so casual! The reverse also holds true. If you're usual attire consists of crumpled t-shirts dress up with a smart new shirt. The change will be instantly noticeable.
8. Watches
Watches can be great for focusing our attention and adding that bit of bling to our wardrobe. There are so many types on Ebay that look expensive but are not that its a shame not to use watches to spruce up our image. Even for the dress down look there are some funky watches that would look cool.
