Displaying at the London Fashion Week (LFW) was Carolyn Massey, the young designer that has gone from strength to strength. Already designing for Topman Massey was displaying at the LFW for the third time thanks to being awarded the NEWGEN MEN for the second time. The NEWGEN MEN is an initiative by the British Fashion Council and sponsored by Topman to showcase menswear design talent and essentially give them catwalk space.
The Fall Winter 2010 collection meshed easy loose fabrics to give a casual and loose appearance. Working predominantly with greys and blacks, the appearance of pale pinks and stripes seemed effortless. The collection toughened up thanks to military style jackets, epaulettes and buttons, chunky scarves, fingerless gloves and hardened looking boots.
Massey is probably one of the hottest upcoming designers out there. We're not convinced of her creations so far for Topman (Spring-Summer) but her Fall Winter Collection is stunning - hope that feeds through into Topman this Fall.
