Has Philip Lim just watched The Matrix? The futuristic looking creations on display at his Fall 2010 men's collection wouldn't look out of place on Neo. We loved Lim's Fall 2010 collection. The stage was set with a simple walkway angling upwards at the rear, models with the same hairstyle, gloves and boots. The set and those simple touches all lending to the feeling that we were witnessing a parade of our future selves in the year 2080 - when we all conform to the same prototype.
Philip Lim's Spring Summer (SS) men's collection for 2010 did not do justice to what the man is capable of. It just didn't float our boat. Sure, Lim is a great designer. Since launching he was deservedly awarded the 2007 Council of Fashion Designers of America emerging talent award. It shines through in his collections.
