Has Philip Lim just watched The Matrix? The futuristic looking creations on display at his Fall 2010 men's collection wouldn't look out of place on Neo. We loved Lim's Fall 2010 collection. The stage was set with a simple walkway angling upwards at the rear, models with the same hairstyle, gloves and boots. The set and those simple touches all lending to the feeling that we were witnessing a parade of our future selves in the year 2080 - when we all conform to the same prototype.

The black leather jackets were clean lined if distressed in nature. Layer's were employed heavily to create the bulk and snug look. From a technology inspired futuristic look Lim jumped to a wintery look in the Hamptons, but kept the future theme running through it. A lot of layers, scarves, big fur collars and a great use of patterns and color (mainly browns) and the clothes even seemed functional as well as stylish. Something designers are often apt to overlook. There were hints at the military theme with large buttons, big boots and forearm length gloves.

Lim himself said adventure was the inspiration for his collection and he sought to bring the adventure that can be experienced in the country into his clothes. "Fall 2010 is all about bringing the wild into the city, and how adventurous the city itself really is. We go on adventures in the city every day."
