First Date Ideas.

Not everyone is hooked on the whole club scene for dating. In fact your 70's dance moves have probably lost you more dates than you care to know. Your drunken ramblings and perma smile make you look like a cheshire cat on speed. Your cheezy first liner somehow bombs.
And do your really want to go pubbing and clubbing with a girl that you just asked out? It really is one way to show the more incoherent side of you. Having a drink to ease the nerves may be seem like a great idea, but its a fine line between having a social drink and her marking you down as an alcho.
And the whole dinner thing? Well it can be a bore, means you have to be a great conversationalist and can turn out very expensive when she keeps ordering the finest chablis.
And nobody really wants to go for a walk on the first date.
Instead why not try some of the ideas below? If your hot date really does turn out to be like your Aunt Cynthia, at least you'll have fun finding out. We've carefully chosen them over a five minute internet hunt and they are designed to ensure close contact, breaks in conversation and laying bare her personality for you. They also provide natural topics of conversation and are easy to organise.
Crazy Golf.
Great because you can let her win. If she's annoying you can become a competitive freak and demand money be bet on each hole.
Skating
She'll cling to you to find her balance and you'll both laugh when you fall. If she's a prissy she'll refuse to come onto the ring, in which case you can amuse yourself doing timed laps. Hey, at least you know!
Picnic
Nothing fancy and the biggest task to find a suitable spot. Beside the motorway and in the center of round-a-bouts are not ideal locations. If there are no scenic areas that immediately spring to mind, find out where good spots for fishing are. Or look up walking routes. These are invariably quiet, easily accessible areas for a picnic. And don't go overboard. Pre-made/bought rolls, choclates and drinks are all great and can cover your cave man cooking skills.
The Zoo
Its a leisure stroll with plenty to 'oooh' and 'aaaah' about. Avoid reference to what type of ammo you'd use to drop that stag. And move on when the monkey's start mating - she might compare you to them later.
Horseriding
There are more of these than you think. Its a great first date, kinda romantic and very memorable. Its not a race to the finish so just saunter along. If you've never done it before best keep it shortish - your behind may get sore. No, seriously!
Amusement Park.
Do find out first if she likes thrill rides. Nobody wants the blindfold ripped off them to find themselves standing atop the 'Fall of Death'. Don't foget to buy her candy-floss.
Flea Markets / Auctions
These should be amateur affairs, not professional auctions for rare french artists. Giggle as you try to bid up to $7 for a pair of bells. Buy her something thoughful. Not something she'll hate looking at.
Sculpting class.
Try not to re-enact Dirty Dancing. Lots of laughing with this. Sit at the back of the class so you can still chat with her.
Horse / Dog Racing
A night at the horses? Try not to look frantic with the bets. You're not here to convice her of your gambling skills. But it can be great fun letting her pick the bets. Don't get serious about having rules for the winnings either - she'll think you're penny pinching.
